Any attempt at honesty involves accepting the parts of ourselves that are, at times, unbecoming.

Seemingly aware of this, new Canadian artist Aridonis reminds listeners that human beings can’t lead with the best foot alone—you need both to get anywhere.

Aridonis’ personal failures, flaws, weaknesses, and regrets become the thematic foundation beneath his three-track debut release I’m The Problem.

With his transgressions clutched in his left hand, his right hand embraces a willing neglect of genre for the sake of accurate self-expression and human connection.

Swagger and prowess punctuate Aridonis’ live performances. At all times playing with sounds Earthly and alien, Aridonis deftly reconciles the meeting between technology and music.

A novel listening experience comes through, but perhaps one more familiar to fans of Frank Ocean, Chance the Rapper, and Portugal. The Man.

The result is a textured alt-pop landscape. Oscillating synth sounds, psychedelic guitars, and lo-fi hip hop beats best illustrate the topography of Aridonis’ pensive world.
